i’m feeling it more for myself and not paying attention to the “barn” norms. only from collecting my own knowledge from online sources like NF and others that profess horsemanship over ribbons.
The horse world needs us to be less like sheep 🐑 and more like our horses. We need to listen to our guts, speak up for what you believe in and be unapologetically ourselves. That will heal the horse world.
I’m actually about to get out of a situation that may be quite similar to the clinic you described but it’s been ongoing and getting progressively worse over the last few months. Fingers crossed that I found a place where people actually don’t judge my decision to put my horse’s health and trust before the ribbons
I genuinely feel like those experiences can either be very empowering because they invite us to speak up for ourselves and stand up for what we believe in or very disempowering and dehumanizing if we don’t have the tools or we don’t feel resourced to do that for ourselves and our horses. Even having an online community where you feel supported can genuinely make a difference so I’m so glad you’re here Kacie.
Just what I needed to read this morning.
